Investigation of Antimicrobial Activity of Medicinal Plant Extracts on Bacillus cereus Isolated from Soil

Background: Because many plant extracts have a significant inhibitory effect on pathogenic microorganisms, so we aimed to evaluate the antioxidant and antimicrobial activity of some Bacillus cereus isolated from soil. Methods: The chicory (Cichorium intybus L.), hyacinth (Hypericum perforatum lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), yew (Taxus baccata), thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) plants were collected identified in botanical laboratory University Zabol. To prepare ethanolic extract, 40 g dried leaves used 400 cc ethanol. Different strains B. this study soil by biochemical, bacteriological, growth tests as well standard tests. Antimicrobial effects investigated diffusion method Müller Hinton agar medium using 6 mm paper discs according Bauer Kirby instructions microdilution.
